Download StackIDE.

The Stacklumen desktop app for Mac and Windows: your sites, content, clients and code in one window, with a real terminal, live sync to your folders and the coding agents you already use. In private alpha for Stacklumen accounts.

Downloads are for signed-in accounts and are recorded against yours. It installs as “Stacklumen” for now.

A short demo of StackIDE, the Stacklumen desktop app, plays: the heading is rewritten and saved, and the Designer tab shows it live; the status bar's Publish button puts Northgate live, step by step.

Choose your computer. A build for each processor.

Not sure which Mac you have? Open the Apple menu → About This Mac: a Chip line means Apple silicon. On Windows, Settings → System → About shows the System type.

The first launch. What to expect.

It installs as “Stacklumen” for now — in Applications, the Dock and the Start menu — and takes the StackIDE name in an update. Download and install, in the docs

Mac

  1. Open the disk image and drag Stacklumen into Applications.
  2. Open Stacklumen. The Mac build is signed and notarised, so macOS opens it as it does any app you download: the first time, it asks to be sure, and you choose Open.
  3. Sign in with your Stacklumen account, in the app or through your browser.

On 0.1.4 or older? Builds before 0.1.5 weren’t signed, so they can’t update themselves. Download this version once; from 0.1.5 on, updates download in the background and Restart to update appears in the status bar.

Windows

  1. Run the installer. It installs for you alone by default, with no administrator prompt.
  2. The Windows installers are not code-signed yet, so Windows may say “Windows protected your PC”. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
  3. Open Stacklumen from the Start menu and sign in.

Check it first. Until the installer is signed, its SHA-256 fingerprint is how you tell our copy from any other. Sign in and this page lists every installer’s fingerprint to compare it with.
