A Letter From The Team

We're now Stacklumen.

After years building as Stackent, we've evolved into something bigger — a thoughtful ecosystem of tools, studio work, and education for the modern web. The new name reflects what we actually do now, and where we're going. Same team, same care, broader horizon.

Stacklumen
Why the Change

A name that fits what we're actually building.

Stackent was the right name for a web studio. Stacklumen is the right name for what we've become — a platform of tools, studio work, education, and community for the people shaping the modern web.

The Pattern

Every project taught us something worth reusing.

Years of shipping Webflow and Shopify work built up a library of patterns, components, and hard-won methods. Clients kept asking for the same building blocks. At some point the honest answer became: we shouldn't keep rebuilding these privately — we should release them.

The Shift

"Agency" stopped describing us.

Stackent signaled a service provider — one agency, one offering. What we're building now is four connected surfaces: studio work, open tooling, education, and community. Each one feeds the others. A new identity was the clearest way to make that shape legible.

The Mission

Clarity is the whole point.

Small business owners and independent developers don't need more jargon, more platforms, or more gated knowledge. They need things to make sense. Stacklumen — literally "the light of the stack" — names that promise directly. We build tools that illuminate instead of obscure.

The Moment

The right time is when things are good.

Rebrands made under pressure look rushed. We're doing this while the business is stable, the work is shipping, and the roadmap is clear — because we want the next decade of Stacklumen to be built on a name that actually fits the mission. Quiet now, louder later.

The Name

What "Stacklumen" means.

Stacklumen
/stak·LOO·men/
noun · the light of the stack

From lumen — the unit of light.

A lumen measures illumination — how much visible light something actually gives off. In naming ourselves Stacklumen, we're committing to a specific promise: we illuminate the stack instead of adding to its clutter.

Clear tools. Clear documentation. Clear paths for builders, owners, and teams who want the modern web to make sense. "Stack" grounds us in what we work on. "Lumen" names what we bring to it.

It's a word you can explain in one breath and remember forever. That's exactly the quality we want the work to have.

What's Changing

A new name, not a new team.

The name and the horizon are bigger. Everything else you've come to expect from Stackent carries forward unchanged.

What's new
  • The name and the home. We're Stacklumen, and stacklumen.com is our new address. All Stackent links redirect automatically.
  • Email addresses. Team emails are migrating to the stacklumen.com domain. Every Stackent address continues to forward indefinitely.
  • The ecosystem vision. Studio work continues as it has. Alongside it: Stacklumen Labs (tooling), Stacklumen Academy (education), and a growing community. More on those below.
  • The brand language. Expect to see more about light, clarity, and illumination in how we describe what we do. It's the same care — just more honestly named.
What's the same
  • The team. Same founders, same developers, same designers. You work with the exact same people.
  • Active projects. Every project keeps its timeline, scope, and pricing. Nothing gets reshuffled.
  • Existing contracts. Fully valid as signed. We'll handle any paperwork on our end if needed.
  • How we build. Same specialization in Webflow, Shopify, and custom code. Same standard for the work. Same direct access to the people doing it.
The Vision

One brand, four surfaces.

Stacklumen is the parent identity for a connected ecosystem. The studio funds the tooling. The tooling grows the community. The community reinforces the studio. Each part makes the others stronger.

Live

Stacklumen Studio

The original agency work, evolved. Full-service Webflow and Shopify builds for small businesses and emerging brands — the proving ground for everything else in the ecosystem.

Coming Soon

Stacklumen Labs

The tooling arm — custom code embeds, motion libraries, Shopify starters, and React components. Everything we've built for clients, released in the light for everyone.

Planned

Stacklumen Academy

Education as a first-class product. Build docs, video walkthroughs, and the decision log behind real client projects — teaching modern web craft in the open.

Planned

Stacklumen Community

A gathering place for builders, owners, and teams using the Stacklumen stack. Office hours, code reviews, early access to Labs releases, and a place to ship together.

Timeline

How the transition works.

A phased rollout designed to be invisible to you. You don't need to do anything — everything is handled on our side.

Phase 01 — Now

Stacklumen goes live

The new brand is live at stacklumen.com. Every Stackent link redirects automatically — bookmarks, old emails, and Google results all still work. Studio work continues uninterrupted.

Active
Phase 02 — Next 60 Days

Identity and ecosystem rollout

Team emails, social profiles, and portfolio links complete their migration. Stacklumen Labs enters private beta with early access for select clients and collaborators. Documentation begins going public.

Underway
Phase 03 — Long-Term

The full ecosystem illuminates

Labs goes public. Academy launches as the education arm. Community opens. The four surfaces operate as one connected brand — each reinforcing the others. The light extends.

Questions

The stuff you're probably wondering.

Straight answers to the questions we've been hearing. If yours isn't here, reach out and we'll answer it directly.

No. Old Stackent links keep working through automatic redirects, and old email addresses continue to forward. When you get a chance, updating your bookmark to stacklumen.com is appreciated — but nothing breaks if you don't.
Yes — fully valid. Every active contract stays exactly as signed. A company rebrand doesn't affect legal or contractual relationships, and we'll handle any paperwork updates entirely on our end if they're needed.
Billing amounts and schedules are unchanged. Invoices will transition to show the Stacklumen brand, but every number on them stays the same. Your previous email address will keep working as a forward, so invoices continue to reach you without interruption.
Yes. Old Stackent email addresses forward to the new Stacklumen ones, so messages continue to reach the right person. As we complete the migration, we'll share updated addresses — but there's no action required from you right now.
Stack + lumen. "Lumen" is the unit of light — it measures illumination. We build tools and work that illuminate the modern web stack for the people using it: small business owners, independent developers, and teams who want things to make sense instead of making sense of things. The name is the promise.
The brand is retiring, but its infrastructure stays alive. Redirects from stackent.net and stackent.org remain active indefinitely. Old email forwards stay live. Nothing that links to Stackent breaks. The team, the standards, and the work all carry forward under Stacklumen — same operation, broader horizon.
Not for existing clients or active projects — every agreement holds. Pricing for new work will continue to evolve as it always has based on scope and complexity, but a rebrand doesn't change any rate. If anything, the new Labs tools coming over time should add value at no additional cost to studio clients.
The opposite. Moves made under pressure look rushed — ours is being done deliberately, while things are stable, because we wanted to get our identity right before the next phase of growth. The rebrand is the signal of a company expanding its ambitions, not one contracting them.
Active Stacklumen Studio clients get early access automatically as Labs releases roll out. For everyone else, we'll open a waitlist in the coming weeks — reach out through the contact form and we'll add you directly.
The same person you've always worked with. If it's easier, you can also reach out through the contact form on this site — it lands in the same inbox and gets a reply the same day whenever possible.
Our Commitment

What we promise through this.

A rebrand only works if it's handled with care. Here's what that means for you.

Zero disruption

Active projects, timelines, and deliverables continue exactly on track. The transition happens in the background while the work keeps moving.

Direct communication

Any change that might touch you — email, billing, contracts — comes with direct notice from the person you work with. No mass emails, no surprises.

Protected continuity

Redirects from Stackent domains stay live indefinitely. Old email forwards remain active. No link in the wild ever breaks because of this move.

Open to questions

If anything about this feels unclear or you want to talk through what it means for your project specifically, we're one email or one call away.

Build with us, in the light.

Whether you want to continue your studio work, join the Labs early access, or just talk through what any of this means for you — we're one message away.
