The best website in every industry, every year.

StackAwards measures every website entered, then a jury of leaders scores the best of them. Small businesses, medium businesses and corporates are judged apart. Any public website can enter, and entry is free.

The first edition is being prepared. Nothing has been judged or announced yet.

Measured first. Then judged.

Both scores are published for every shortlisted website, with the method that produced them.

  1. Every entry is measured

PageSpeed Insights tests each website on mobile and desktop for Performance, Accessibility, Best practices and SEO. Mobile counts for 60%, desktop for 40%.

  2. The best make the shortlist

The top 5 measured websites in each industry and size go to the jury. Ties are broken by fixed rules, never by hand.

  3. A jury of leaders scores them

Jurors score each shortlisted website on 5 published criteria. The final score is 40% measured and 60% jury.

This year’s edition. Not open yet.

When the first edition opens for entries, its dates are published here.

No edition has been announced yet.

There are no winners, shortlists or scores to show. The rules are published now, so anyone can read how the first edition will be judged before it opens.

Who judges. And who never does.

The jury is the Leaders and Luminaries of the Stacklumen Room, with outside CEOs and design leads invited by name.

Leaders of the Room

Leaders earn their tier from their peers in the Stacklumen Room and are nominated to it; Luminaries are invited. A juror from the Room judges only while they hold the tier.

Invited jurors

CEOs and design leads from outside Stacklumen are invited by hand, so the jury is never only our own customers.

Recusal in the code

No juror scores their own website, their agency’s or their agency’s clients’. The check runs every time a score is saved, not only when the list is drawn.

Credit for who built it. Agencies too.

An entry can name the agency behind the website, from the agencies listed in the Stacklumen Directory. Agencies earn points for the websites they built, and the most in each size is Agency of the Year.

Built by, in plain words

Each credit says how sure it is: verified by Stacklumen when the website is live in that agency’s workspace, confirmed by the site owner, or credited by the entrant.

Agency of the Year

1 point for a shortlisted website and 3 points for a category winner, counted only when the credit is verified by Stacklumen or confirmed by the site owner. Small, medium and large agencies are named apart.

Badges on the Directory

The announcement gives credited agencies their shortlist, winner and Agency of the Year badges, shown on their Directory card.

Enter a website. Yours, or one you admire.

Any public website can be entered, by its own organisation or nominated by somebody else. Each website can be entered once a year. Entry is free.
