New plans, Client payments and Advanced analytics

The Agency plan now covers the Hub, Terminal and StackIDE with five editor seats and three workspaces. Two add-ons arrive with it: card payments for client invoices and retainers, and a full analytics page for any site.

An agency's invoice to a client in the Hub, paid by card into the agency's own account, beside a small analytics window with the month's visitors, and the words "New plans, client payments and analytics."

On 29 October we changed how Stacklumen is sold and added two things many agencies have asked for: a way to bill clients and take card payments from inside the Hub, and a full analytics page for any site. This post covers what changed and what it means if you are already on a plan.

The Agency plan

The Agency plan covers the Hub, Terminal and StackIDE. It now includes five editor seats and three workspaces.

Baselumen is now its own product. You buy it on the same Stacklumen account, and you can add it on any plan.

If your agency is on an earlier plan, you keep your price and everything you have now until a renewal that falls at least 30 days after we write to you about the change. Nothing changes for you before then.

The pricing page, the docs and the terms (version 3.7) set all of this out in full.

Client payments

Client payments is a new add-on for invoices and retainers that your clients pay by card.

In the Hub you can now:

  • Create numbered invoices from scratch, from a CRM quote or from unbilled time
  • Send reminders and receipts
  • Set up retainers that charge a saved card each month, quarter or year
  • See an overview of what is owed to you

Your client pays an invoice, or starts a retainer, by card. They can do it inside their client portal or from the link in the email you send. The money goes straight into your own Stripe account.

For an agency, this puts the quote, the time you tracked and the invoice in the same place as the client and the project. A client who already uses your portal to review work can pay from the same place.

Advanced analytics

Advanced analytics is the second add-on, and it works for any site. It gives the site its own Analytics page with:

  • Visitors and their sources
  • Campaigns
  • Goals and funnels
  • Activity in the last 30 minutes

Visits are counted without cookies. You choose whether to share a site's analytics with its client.

Free page counts, cleaned up

Every site keeps its free page counts, whether or not you add Advanced analytics. Those counts now include campaign tags, and they no longer count crawlers or 404 probes, so the numbers you see are closer to real visits.

What to do next

  • If you bill clients today in a separate tool, look at Client payments on the pricing page and connect your Stripe account when you are ready.
  • If a client asks how their site is doing, Advanced analytics gives you a page you can share with them instead of a monthly screenshot.
  • If you are on an earlier plan, you do not need to do anything now. We will write to you before anything changes at renewal.
  • If you use Baselumen, note that it is now bought separately on the same account.

The full entry is on the changelog.
